Rapper Tsar Leo has is back on the scene with the release of a new extended play (EP) Echoes.
The release coincides with his signing under the record label Hundred Aims, who are also the executive producers of the six-track EP.
Echoes centres under the theme of love as depicted in the opening track Ready which talks about the stages a man takes in courtship. The song forms the basis of the general narrative in the compilation as other songs also feed on the same love concept.
Speaking in an interview yesterday, Tsar Leo said the EP is an attempt to explore the varied nature of love and affection between a man and woman.
“The central theme of the EP is echoed throughout the sentiments that are contained in the compositions as well as the music itself in the EP. The love theme is something that is prominent throughout the songs,” he said.
The EP comprises songs such as Ready which features songstress Temwah, Nobody featuring Pop Young, Chosangalatsa co-done with Macelba, Ndathela featuring Episodz, Quest MW and Charisma Madness, Doubts features Chikondi Wiseman and Aimnent and Finally which has ProVoice and Aimnent.
Tsar Leo said the feedback that his initial releases through various online spaces and media outlets has been encouraging.
Chosangalatsa was the first single to be released from the EP and it premiered on Radio 2FM popular urban music programme Made On Monday.
In a separate interview, Hundred Aims founder and producer Antony Lazaro said their record label is designed as an artistic platform dedicated to fostering ambition and creativity as demonstrated in the Echoes EP.
He said the release of the EP marks their first collaboration with Tsar Leo whom they recognise as a highly talented artist with potential to achieve success on the international music market.
Lazaro said: “Hundred Aims provides emerging and established artists with essential resources and support to achieve their objectives within the music industry. The collaborative community at Hundred Aims encourages growth and connection among artists, empowering them to realise their full potential.”
The EP will be distributed across all major digital platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Music. It will also be available for download on Malawi-music.com. and www.malawian.com.

Echoes is Tsar Leo’s second EP after his 2024 release titled The Illusions of Love.
